All Wet

Quan and Angelina Ha wanted to be better citizens, and not use so much water in arid southern California. The couple used 299,221 gallons of water in 2007, and figured their landscaping was using most of it. Paying for the water was bad enough, but municipalities were starting to fine people for using too much water during droughts. "We've got a newborn, so we want to start worrying about her future," Quan said, so the couple tore out their lawn and other thirsty plants, replacing it all with bark chips and drought-tolerant plants. In 2009 their water use was down to 58,348 gallons -- more than an 80 percent reduction. No good, the City of Orange said: city law requires that 40 percent of a yard must be landscaped "predominantly with live plants," and officials aren't impressed by the Has' conservation efforts. The city has sued the couple, and filed misdemeanor criminal charges against them. "Compliance, that's all we've ever wanted," said Senior Assistant City Attorney Wayne Winthers.

Woman, 92, charged with murder

Police in Australia have charged a 92-year-old woman with killing her 98-year-old husband. Clare Tang is due to appear in court on Tuesday on a murder charge after her husband was found dead in their apartment in downtown Sydney on Friday night. New South Wales state police said in a statement that C.Y. Tang was found in the lounge and that he had suffered head wounds. A cause of death was still being determined.
Clare Tang was arrested at the scene.
Family friend George Tsoi said the couple were from Shanghai, China, and owned restaurants in Singapore. He said they had been married for about 70 years, and that Tang appeared to love her husband deeply, it was reported.

UK couple facing jail for kissing

A British couple are appealing against a jail sentence after being accused of sharing a passionate kiss in a Dubai restaurant. Cosmopolitan Dubai has the most lenient social codes in the Gulf, but authorities can still crack down on people charged with pushing the limits. Ayman Najifi, a Briton working in Dubai, and a female tourist were arrested in November after a complaint about public kissing. They were convicted of inappropriate behaviour and other charges, earning them a month in jail. The couple said it was just a "peck on the cheek".
A court has set the appeal for April 4.
In 2008, two Britons were sentenced to three months in jail for what authorities described as sex on the beach. The sentences were suspended.(my view)-This is beyond absurd and childish.....kissing lol kissing leads to sex-sex leads to pregnancy, pregnancy leads to the human race.....IF WE DON'T HAVE KISS AND HAVE SEX THEY'LL BE NO HUMAN RACE...FUCKKKKK I HATE THIS DUMB ASS FUCKING MORONIC SHIT HOLES OF COUNTRIES.
