Britons have named Facebook as the best invention of the past decade in a new survey.
More than 1,000 people were asked to name their favourite three inventions of the Noughties, and almost three-quarters (73%) included the social networking website among their choices.
The iPhone was the second most popular (62%), closely followed by networking website Twitter (58%).
Some of those questioned (8%) said jeggings - a cross between jeans and leggings - were among their favourite inventions and a small number (2%) even voted for X Factor's twins John and Edward.
The top 10 were Facebook (73%), iPhone (62%), Twitter (58%), the MP3 (51%), satellite navigation (46%), iPod (43%), YouTube (39%), high definition television (30%), GHD hair straighteners (23%) and 3D films (19%).
Eve Atkins, founder of website Offers Supermarket, which commissioned the survey, said: "As the concept of our website is to offer consumers the top 10 best products available at any given time, which we research for the consumer, we thought it would be interesting to know what the buying public felt the top 10 products of the past decade were.
"Some of the things in the list have changed the way we live; the Sat Nav, for example, has made travelling much easier."
She added: "I am relieved that Jedward didn't make the list, I do feel that there have been much better inventions!"(my view)-Your kidding me...viruses,boots you out of msn and it slows your computer down so much that i fell asleep(when playing cafe world ect)facebook is NOT the best...far from it

What I don't get is how is facebook a great invention if it is putting viruses on peoples computer. Just kind of makes you think don't it??
Facebook is a great way to keep intouch with your family .....but yes, there are plenty of bugs in it! I just love cafe world ....when it works. :/ xxx
