Question!

HOW DOES TAXING STUFF LIKE PETROL(GAS if your American)AND OTHER EMISSIONS COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE?????????? ----because to me...taxing people is to make you more money, money DOES NOT combat global warming...your using global warming as an excuse to make loads of money from us all.....YOU DO NOT AND NEVER WILL CARE ABOUT OUR CLIMATE......am i wrong friends or right???

Australian aims to breed 'green' sheep that burp less -LOL FUCKING LOONEY TOONS LOL

Australian scientists have said they are hoping to breed sheep that burp less as part of efforts to tackle climate change. The scientists have been trying to identify a genetic link that causes some sheep to belch less than others. Burping is a far greater cause of emissions in sheep than flatulence, they say. About 16% of Australia's greenhouse emissions come from agriculture, says the department of climate change. Australia's Sheep Cooperative Research Council says 66% of agricultural emissions are released as methane from the gut of livestock. "Ninety per cent of the methane that sheep and cattle and goats produce comes from the rumen, and that's burped out," John Goopy from the New South Wales Department of Industry and Investment told ABC. "Not much goes behind - that's horses." The scientists in New South Wales have been conducting experiments in specially designed pens where they measure how much gas sheep emit by burping. They have found, from tests on 200 sheep so far, that the more they eat, the more they belch. But even taking that into account, there appear to be "significant differences" between individual animals, Mr Goopy said. The scientists' goal in the long term is to breed sheep that produce less methane, which produces many times more global warming than carbon dioxide. "We're looking for natural variations so we'll steer the population that way, " said Roger Hegarty, from the Sheep Cooperative Research Council. (my view)-I know ozzies are thick and stupid but come on!

German 'Robin Hood' banker gets suspended sentence

A German bank employee who secretly transferred money from rich to poor clients has been given a 22-month suspended prison term. The 62-year-old woman, dubbed the 'Robin Hood Banker', moved more than $11m (£7m) in 117 transfers. The court in Bonn was told that the employee, who has not been named, took no money for herself. The bank made a loss of more than $1.5m (£1m) when poor customers were unable to pay back unauthorised overdrafts. The employee was accused of allowing overdrafts for customers who would not normally qualify for them. Small pension She then used the money from richer customers to temporarily disguise the loans during the bank's monthly audit of overdrafts. The woman has begun reimbursing the bank for the losses, reportedly from a small retirement pension. She could have faced a four-year prison sentence, but the court decided on leniency as she had confessed immediately and did not profit personally. The woman was also considered to have suffered enough, through the loss of her job and the requirement that she pay back the lost funds. (my view)-The woman did NOTHING wrong..the rich have it made.......they do not struggle and this just proves the helping the poor and doing the right thing.....gets you arrested ect.....A FUCKING HATE THE GOVERNMENT...we want want want..thats all you think about....MORE MONEY! sick

Boy, 4, stabbed to death at flat

Murder detectives are waiting to question a father suspected of stabbing his four-year-old son to death before injuring himself. Officers were called to a flat in Southwark, south London, on Monday after people heard a violent argument. Police found the body of a boy with knife wounds. The 31-year-old father is under guard at a south London hospital. His 28-year-old wife suffered a stab wound to the neck but has been discharged. A 17-month-old girl was found unharmed at the address in Lynton Road at about 1800 GMT. A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the man, whose condition is described as "serious", remains under guard in hospital. Officers from the force's child abuse investigation command were waiting to arrest and question him. The spokesman added that no-one has been arrested and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the alleged stabbing. The police spokesman said: "At this stage, officers are looking into all the circumstances surrounding the child's death. "There have been no arrests and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident." People living on the Lynton Road estate spoke of their shock at the boy's death. Joan Dixon, 39, who has lived on the estate for 23 years, said: "What I heard was screaming, then my mum saw the police turn up. "We saw the ambulance turn up and they were doing everything they could to resuscitate the man." Her mother Rita Dixon, 71, said: "I saw a man on a stretcher - they were resuscitating him halfway down the stairs and then outside. They were doing everything to sort him out." She said the family "never mixed with anyone, they kept themselves to themselves". Joan Dixon described the area as "no trouble" and "normal and quiet". The death is being investigated by officers led by Det Insp Keith Braithwaite, based at Stratford, east London. (my view)-The so-called father SHOULD be stabbed to death himself.......but justice will NOT be served..you mark my words!

Human/Animal Species!

Tuesday 17th 2009.- Terry,A 43 year old man emailed our HQ in Stafford with a bizarre story to tell and being as we print different articles of interest aswell as the usual ones,we decided to print this.make up your own minds on this one, here's the email: Dear sir or madam, My name is terry and i live in Stafford, you asked us all to email you with stories we have or come into your HQ,so i am emailing to tell you of a weird, fascinating and unexplained sighting. I always get up at 6am and take my dog for a walk at 6:30am i live with my wife, two kids and my dog,we live next to a wood that's kind of big. so we went for her daily walk into the wood, i could see the due in the air hovering like a low cloud and the smell like that of newly fresh cut grass, sammy(my golden retriever) was doing her thing, sniffing and playing around. running around trees and she bought a stick back for me to play fetch with her. so i took the stick and threw it,we played fetch for 20 minutes until Sammy never came back. i was worried as she always returned to me,so i walked a few meters and saw her on a mound smaller then a hill, instead of calling"sam"as i didn't want her to slip and fall down the mound(as the grass was damp- from the due in the air).as i walking up the mound i petted her and said"why didn't you come back" (everyone talks to their pets)and she was staring at something but sam didn't go to investigate like she does with everything else, which i thought was strange, she just stood there. my eyesight isn't very good,so i went in for a closer look and what a saw, change my thoughts on this saying "Are We Alone",as i pushed a bush and stick leaves out of my Field of view and what i could see is what sammy saw. 5 people,2 were having sexual intercourse but it was more animmalistic and the others were climbing trees and running around but here's where it gets weirdly interesting, they were running around on all fours like dogs...yes i said on all fours like dogs. then the two who were having sex were grunting and panting...yes i know what the readers are thinking.if i knew this was going on so i would have taken my camera with me. when the man finished having sex he howled like a wolf and then the woman after waiting a minute or so(not to sound as a perverse who spies on couples i don't,i was watching them all because i was fascinated by them all)was watching her partner(edited from post as this is a public newspaper)while the other were jumping around, climbing trees and carrying sticks in there mouths, well 3 of them anyway, then they were sniffing around on the floor. then i thought"the reason they didn't hear me and smell me"(if what they were actually an animal race of human) was the due(water)was masking my scent or dulling there sense of smell and not hearing me because the noise they all were making. as all this was going on i was thinking"this is like watching a fictional movie of sorts. and could NOT believe what i was witnessing. after the sex all of them started eating something they dug from the ground. the male(which i think is the leader)decided who gets what of the food. as they quited down during feeding, sam barked and they all stared our way and fled...on all fours. after about 10 minutes of sitting down in shock and ore,we walked home. what normally takes 30 minutes took me over an hour to reach home. i was walking slowly as i was thinking"what on earth did i see?" as we got home,i sat in my garden and was trying to make sense of all this. before i knew it,betty(my wife) came out to me and she told me i had been sitting out here for 3 hours....3 hours.i explained all to her and to this day betty doesn't believe it.and 8 days later i was reading your paper and saw that you wanted our stories.so that's my story of what i saw...i never really watched animal-ish movies like:teen wolf or others like these. but now i am watching as many as i can now, since that day a have bought books and dvds on wolves and dogs.all the acts that those people were doing......were on the dvds....but on the dvd were wolves and dogs. since that day i have been going alone(quietly as not to scare them away)and they are always there. so i sit and watch and take notes and post them in my blog...i hope you respect my privacy if i don't give the blog url out(if anyone writes in,because each week people write replies) Terry. ---(my view)-as you can tell by the date in this post(not when i posted this article)is 3 days old,the reason is,this story holds is person attachment to me(don't ask)so i have no real view you would not except other then-YOUR NOT ALONE-

GIRL BEATEN TO PULP...FOR BEING ENGLISH

A YOUNG woman was brutally attacked for being English – by a hate-filled Scot who heard her accent. Lucy Newman, 22, was punched so hard she suffered a cracked cheekbone, two black eyes and damaged eye nerves. The nursery nurse revealed that the thug told her: “Get back to England.” And moments later she was punched hard in the face. Pretty Lucy, originally from Cheltenham, Glos, has been living in Scotland with her family for 18 years and still has a slight English accent. She was out at night with pals in Aberdeen when the attack happened at around 2am. Two men walked past and made a comment and one smashed her in the face. Lucy said: “I don’t even know what happened after they made the comment because it all happened so fast. But I was hit on the face and I fell over. “I was on the ground with my head pouring with blood.” Her dad Leslie said: “Lucy’s been in Scotland since she was four, but sometimes she’s still got an English twang. “We think that’s why this happened. She was talking and singing with her pal. “The guy heard her accent and just smacked her in the face. It is unforgivable.” Lucy now faces an anxious wait to see if she needs surgery on her injuries. Police are hunting Lucy’s attacker, but have been unable to trace the attack on CCTV footage from the night. A Grampian force spokesman confirmed that inquiries were ongoing. later we arrested the man but let him go without charge.

Big Brother wants into your hard drive

The personal computer may soon be not-so-private, with the U.S. and some European nations working on laws allowing them access to search the content held on a person's hard drive. President Obama's administration is keeping unusually tight-lipped on the details, which is raising concerns among computer users and liberty activists. Almost everyone today owns a music player and a laptop. But what if the Government decided to allow itself to access these personal devices for no specific reason whatsoever? In extreme secrecy from the public, the Obama administration is hammering out an international copyright treaty with several other countries and the European Union. Under the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), governments will get sweeping new powers to search and seize material thought to be in breach of copyright. While the Obama administration calls these secretive plans a development of national security, Richard Stallman, a prominent American software freedom activist, calls it a secret war on sharing: Because we wouldnt like it if we knew, they are trying to do policy laundering, Stillman says. Democracy gets bypassed and they can do to us whatever they want. I can only guess that its going to be nasty, because if it werent going to be nasty, they wouldnt need to keep a secret. Up until now, the breach of copyright has been a civil matter. The Obama administration seems to now want to criminalize it. And even though recent reports suggest that on average more than 800 illegally copied songs can be found on a teenagers music player, this has hardly ever been seen as a reason for national security concerns. One of the things the treaty is said to be aimed at is peer-to-peer sharing, meaning passing on software from one user to another. But what it would do on a larger scale is let Big Brother watch you, this time on a completely different level. Leaks of the text suggest that border guards will get unprecedented powers to search travelers without warning. They will be able to go through, copy and confiscate any digital material people have on their laptop. This means music, movies, and games as well as any other personal material. Some people compare a personal computer and the files it contains to an underwear drawer, and are convinced that the government should not go through it. Or, at least, it should have a good reason to do so. Others add that the whole process of drafting the new legislation goes completely against the policies with which Obama ran for office, notably the policy of transparency. It has also been brought to attention that the countries working on the treaty dont include important international players like China, Russia and Brazil. ,The phrase “Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement” sounds innocent enough. Who could be against such an agreement? But in fact it appears to be a pretext for a massive invasion of privacy, motivated in part by the entertainment industry seeking to maintain copyrights. But once unleashed, such an assault on freedom will know no bounds. What if Big Brother finds on your laptop that you think ID supports certain traditional moral views, and what if any articulation of such views comes to be regarded as a hate crime? (my view)-THIS IS WHY WE ALL NEED TO ARM OURSELVES WITH GUNS ECT,GOVERNMENTS ARE BECOMING WHY OUT OF CONTROLL AND EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY ITS AGAINST THE LAW FOR YOU TO HAVE ARMS OF WEAPONS AND YOU WILL BE ARRESTED WHEN IN FACT WHAT THEY ARE PLANING AND DOING IS AGAINST THE LAW TO,WE MUST PROTECT OURSELVES FROM THESE CRIMINALS WHO CALL THEMSELVES THE LAW AND GOVERNMENT!IN,IE IF A COP OR OTHER FORCE THEIR WAY INTO YOUR HOME AND TRYING TO TAKE YOUR RIGHTS AWAY AND CONTROL YOU OR EVEN TRY TO TURN YOU INTO A SLAVE(AND IT WILL HAPPEN)YOU HAVE THE RIGHT(BY NATURES LAW)TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND IF THEY MEANS KILLING SAID PERSON WHOS TRYING ALL THIS ON YOU,THEN TO ME....YOU ARE NOT CLASSED AS A KILLER NOR HAVE YOU KILLED AS KILL INSINUATES YOUR KILLING IN COLD BLOOD.......THIS ISN'T TRUE BUT PROTECTING YOURSELF OR OTHER OF WEAKER STATE,SO YOUR ARE INNOCENT OF KILLING BUT IN LAW.YOU WERE PROTECTING YOURSELF/OTHERS....AND THIS....YOU ARE FREE,WE ALL NEED TO ARM OURSELVES!....NOW BEFORE ITS TO LATE!ACTA - Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement(This is YET ANOTHER way to spy on people illegelly)

10 of life's mysteries solved

1,Why is the sky blue?--- Good question. The sky is blue because of a process called Rayleigh scattering. When light from the Sun reaches the atmosphere, it strikes the molecules in the air and is scattered in all directions. The extent to which light is scattered depends on its frequency. Blue light, which has a high frequency, is scattered many times more than other colours. As more blue light is scattered, it becomes the dominant colour, causing bright blue skies on clear days 2,Why are rain clouds grey?--- It's usually pretty easy to tell when it's about to rain because the clouds in the sky turn an ominous grey colour. Clouds that are full of water or ice particles absorb light so that they appear grey from below. Those that contain relatively small amounts of water reflect more light, so that they appear bright white from the ground. 3,Why is a new moon invisible?--- Just as half the Earth is always in daylight and the other half is in darkness, so around 50 per cent of the Moon's surface is always illuminated by the Sun. The degree to which the sunlit portion of the Moon is visible from Earth depends on the Moon's phases, which change as it orbits the Earth. In the phase called the new moon, the area of the Moon that faces the Earth is completely in shadow, so it cannot be seen. 4,What causes tides?--- Have you ever wondered what causes the rise and fall of the tide? When the Moon is directly over a given point on the surface of the Earth, its gravity exerts a powerful pull on the water of the oceans below, causing them to rise above their normal level. Water covering the parts of the Earth furthest from the Moon is also subject to this pull, and forms another axis of high water. At both crests, the condition known as high water prevails, while along the circumference of the Earth perpendicular to the direct-opposite tidal axis, phases of low water occur. 5,Why do cockerels crow at dawn?--- Most birds like to take part in what is known as the "dawn chorus". For around half an hour after sunrise, birds make more noise than at any other time of day, although all birds, including cockerels, continue to crow throughout the day. The reason for the chorus is largely territorial, and is stimulated not just by light, but also by a biological response (even cockerels that are shut up in coops without light will crow at dawn). 6,Why do planes suddenly plunge during storms?--- During normal flight conditions, the lift force produced by an aeroplane is equal to its weight, so the plane flies at a steady level. Most of the lift is produced by the wings, which are set at a slight angle to the oncoming wind. If the angle increases, the plane produces more lift and will climb, and if the angle decreases, the plane will descend. When a plane flies into stormy conditions, it will often encounter patches of rapidly rising or descending air. As the plane flies into these patches, the angle at which the wings meet the wind changes, causing the plane to suddenly climb or descend. 7,Why do leaves turn brown in autumn?--- Throughout the summer months, the leaves of a deciduous tree are like miniature chemical factories. Using a process called photosynthesis, they capture energy in the form of light and convert it into chemical energy. This process is made possible by the presence of chlorophyll, the substance that gives leaves their green colour. As autumn approaches, shortening daylight hours and falling temperatures induce trees to prepare for winter. They grow a corky membrane between the branch and the leaf stem, which interferes with the flow of nutrients into the leaf. The production of chlorophyll declines, and this causes the green colour in the leaf to fade to a yellow. 8,Why do we yawn?--- The traditional explanation for this phenomenon is that it's your body's way of obtaining more oxygen when you are tired or when there is a lack of fresh air. The problem is that we don't only yawn under those circumstances. Top athletes may yawn before a big race and we're just as likely to yawn when there's a plentiful supply of fresh air as when we are sitting on a crowded bus. Perhaps the answer to the next question can help. 9,So why is yawning contagious?(no picture)--- If you've ever sat on a crowded bus and yawned, you've probably noticed that this causes some of your fellow passengers to yawn as well. It's almost as if yawning is contagious. The short answer is that we still don't know why yawning causes other people to yawn, but this phenomenon may help us to explain why we yawn in the first place. The fact that we are so sensitive to the impulse suggests that there must be a reason for our ability to detect and respond to other people's yawns, but scientists have been unable to reach a conclusion. One likely explanation is that at one time in evolutionary history, yawning was a way of coordinating the social behaviour of a group. 10,Why do men have nipples?--- Many great thinkers have pondered this -- even Aristotle had a crack at answering the conundrum! The answer is that in the first few weeks of development in the womb, male and female embryos look exactly the same. Every embryo has the potential to be either male or female -- the determining factor is the chromosomes that it carries. Chromosomes are like little packs of instructions which determine aspects of the development of an embryo, including its sex. The male embryo has an X and a Y chromosome and the female has two X chromosomes.

Sexism complaints over Glenister ad

Philip Glenister's role in Marks and Spencer's new Christmas TV advert has been hit by complaints of sexism. The Advertising Standards Authority confirmed it was looking into six complaints, which generally say they find his part of the ad - which features stars discussing what they can't do without at Christmas - offensive. Actor Philip, shown propping up a bar, says towards the end of the advert: "Oh come on, it's Christmas... That girl prancing around in her underwear", before the ad cuts to French model Noemie Lenoir wearing a bra and knickers. M and S campaign regular Noemie asks in reply: "Moi?" before twirling round in a wooded winter scene. The star-studded campaign also includes Joanna Lumley, Stephen Fry, Jennifer Saunders and Myleene Klass. The watchdog will assess the complaints before deciding whether or not to launch an investigation. Philip is best known for playing non-politically correct cop Gene Hunt in the hit BBC1 show Ashes To Ashes.(my view)-What about the COUNTLESS ads of woman drooling over men just to sell produces to woman/or gay men, straight men or all three! IE: the coke ad wear a woman steals the blokes towel so he came out of the shower covering his cock with his hand and they stare at his ass giggling and drinking diet coke?......and i bet all the complaints were made by woman(not being sexist here but"whats good for the goose is good for the gander"so shut the fuck up...you girls get away with murder with everything and most times escape jail for committing a REAL murder by saying"HE was trying to kill me"even if the bloke is in a wheel chair ect.....you know you do.

LHC nears restart after repairs

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) could restart as early as this weekend after more than a year of repairs. Officials have avoided giving an exact date for sending beams of protons around the 27km (17 mile) circular tunnel which houses the collider. The LHC was first switched on in 2008, but had to be shut down when a faulty electrical connection caused one tonne of helium to leak into the tunnel. The vast machine is located 100m below the French-Swiss border. Operated by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (Cern), the LHC will recreate the conditions just after the Big Bang. Two beams of protons will be fired around the tunnel. These beams will travel in opposite directions around the main "ring" at close to the speed of light. At allotted points around the tunnel, the proton beams will cross paths, smashing into one another with enormous energy. Scientists hope to see new particles in the debris of these collisions, revealing fundamental new insights into the nature of the cosmos. But the first beams to circulate around the collider will be injected at a low energy of about 450 billion electron volts. For the restart, engineers are determined to take things one step at a time, and officials are not setting hard and fast deadlines. Once the collider is circulating two beams in opposite directions, engineers will attempt low-intensity collisions. This will provide scientists with data they can use for calibration purposes. After this, the beams' energy will be increased so that the first high-energy collisions can take place. These will mark the real beginning of the LHC's research programme.(my view)-on a conspiracy note, this might be the"2012"end of the world cause?

Body parts sold to kebab stand

(Three Russians also suspected of killing man, eating parts themselves)- Russian police have arrested three homeless people suspected of eating a 25-year-old man they had butchered and selling other bits of the corpse to a local kebab house. Suspicions were raised when dismembered parts of a human body were found near a bus stop in the outskirts of the Russian city of Perm, 720 miles east of Moscow. Three homeless men with previous criminal records have been arrested on suspicion of setting upon a foe with knives and a hammer before chopping up his corpse to eat, local investigators said in a statement. "After carrying out the crime, the corpse was divided up: part was eaten and part was also sold to a kiosk selling kebabs and pies," the prosecutor's main investigative unit for the Perm region said. It was not immediately clear from the statement if any of the corpse had been sold to customers.(my view)-Killing ANYTHING is NEVER justified unless in self defence(then its that NOT killing)or culling reproducing all the time animals ie: chickens, fish, cows ect,but eating a corpse is ok-animals do it all the time.....ITS CALLED"THE FOOD CHAIN" PEOPLE

Computer device 'helps' diabetics

(ADULTS CAN USE THIS TO)- A handheld computer console game has been developed to help diabetic children monitor their condition. The Didget system for the Nintendo DS is designed to encourage young people to test their blood sugar levels regularly. Users download the results to their console and are rewarded with game points. 25,000 children in the UK have diabetes. Those with type 1 need to test their blood every few hours. The regime can be tough, according to 11-year-old George Dove: "It is boring, but I am quite good at remembering to do it because I know if I don't do it, I know that I could get really ill," he said. "When I am low I go really shaky, get blurred vision and can't speak very well. After the first year or so you get used to it and I know when I am having a hypo." Hypoglycaemia, or low blood sugar, is one of the risks associated with diabetes. However, if the condition isn't managed properly it can lead to heart disease and blindness. Weight loss Health experts stress the importance of regular self testing. That has been made easier in recent years, thanks to new technology, according to Karen Addington of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She said: "It is incredible how much improvement there has been, and things are still being developed. "One of the projects the JDRF is hoping to deliver soon is an artificial pancreas. That is two devices that can talk to each other - an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor which will control someone's type 1 for them." The Diget system is not manufactured by Nintendo, but operates with the DS console. It costs £29.99. Recently Weightwatchers UK agreed to use Nintendo Wii Fit Plus as part of its weight loss programme. TV presenters Ant and Dec have been signed up to promote the initiative. The software has also gained official backing from the Department of Health. However, the same programme has also been criticised by the National Obesity Forum for telling children they are fat.

'Six-year limit' on innocent DNA

The DNA of innocent people arrested in England and Wales should be held for no longer than six years, ministers are expected to say. Last year the European Court of Human Rights ruled it was unlawful to keep indefinitely the profiles of innocent people. The United Kingdom has the world's biggest DNA database. Police say retaining samples has helped solve crimes. Human rights groups say the proposed change is not enough. There are no reliable figures on how many crimes have been solved because someone cleared of one offence has been later linked to another solely through the unique genetic fingerprint obtained from their DNA. One recent government figure suggests that less than 1% of all recorded crime is solved with the database's help - although most police investigations do not involve DNA at all. 'Unfinished research' The European Court ruling last year said the system in England and Wales breached basic rights because it allowed police to retain indefinitely the DNA samples of anyone arrested in an investigation, even if they were later neither charged nor convicted. Northern Ireland's DNA database is administered separately but follows the same model and is therefore, in practice, also in breach of the European Court's judgment. Scotland's part of the database was given the all clear because police delete DNA profiles of most people who are not convicted. In all four parts of the UK, police take DNA swabs from suspects shortly after their arrest. The Home Office has already deleted the profiles of children under 10 years old to comply with the European Court's ruling, but has been considering how to deal with the rest of the estimated one million samples from people who have not been convicted. Earlier this year it proposed time limits of six or 12 years depending on the nature of the crime for which a suspect had been arrested. These figures were drawn from research by the Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science. Its director subsequently accused the Home Office of basing the proposals on unfinished research which did not prove the case for any particular time limit. Fundamental principles The proposals being outlined later on Wednesday are expected to discount the 12 year figure and propose different rules for the under-18s. But the Equality and Human Rights Commission said such a proposal would not meet requirements set by the court ruling that data should be held only when there were "clear, justifiable reasons" for doing so. The shadow home secretary, Chris Grayling, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme a future Conservative government would adopt the system in place in Scotland, where DNA samples are kept for no longer than five years and in relatively minor cases destroyed at the end of the inquiry. He added: "What I don't think we should be doing is saying to absolutely everybody who is pulled into a police station for any reason, 'Your DNA will be taken and it will be stored indefinitely,' as is the case at the moment, or indeed will be stored for up to six years as the government appear to be proposing'. "One of the fundamental principles of our criminal justice system is that you're innocent until proven guilty and I think this actually rather undermines that principle." Julie Bindel, from the campaign group Justice for Women, told Today she understood the fears of discrimination against those whose DNA profiles are kept - but the needs of victims also had to be considered. "It may be that we need to think about a national database," she said. "It's something that we feel uncomfortable with, but so many crimes have been solved by DNA and so many crimes have also been solved by acquitting those who have been falsely accused - some of the worst miscarriages of justice. "And I think for women particularly who've been raped and who don't get justice we have to balance their rights against the rights of those who don't like the idea of having their DNA on record." Shami Chakrabarti, director of the campaign group Liberty, told BBC News: "The government has been stockpiling the DNA of completely innocent people including children and the more innocent DNA you keep the greater the risk of accident, error and abuse." -(my view)- Why?....if the blood turns out as"innocent" in a crime ect...then why keep it for 6 years?...i know why,it has and is HAPPENING all the time with these pigs(cops)they in-prison and/or kill these people who.....in time the shits tell us that person was/is innocent(was=they killed the person)so they do not have to work on the blood or work to catch the REAL criminal,so this"we're sorry,they/he/she was innocent"excuse they say is a FUCKING pathetic way to relieve themselves of the wrongly killing of who they like....yes they think they are the law...hell! they can not do their jobs properly anyway!i'd love to smack the person who gave the assholes their jobs in law

Fans sink fangs into Twilight

With the Twilight: New Moon film out later this month, fans are eager for another dose of romance and vampires. But what makes 800 devotees gather at a hotel over three days to worship the stars of Stephenie Meyer's hit franchise? (Some fans of the franchise have been labelled Twi-Hards) My husband is a Twlight widow. He thinks I'm bonkers," says Odette, from Milton Keynes. This is Odette's third Twilight convention, and she says it's not just about meeting the actors. "It's more the social atmosphere, meeting friends who are in the Twilight community, hanging out with the girls, and getting away from my husband for the weekend. "I do have a social life. I'm not a typical Twi-Hard, as they call them. I don't follow them around the world." 'Robsessed' On this autumnal weekend in Northampton, five actors from the Twilight films have flown in for an extended bout of hero worship at this unofficial event. They include "bad vampires" Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria) and Edi Gathegi (Laurent), members of the werewolf pack Chaske Spencer (Sam Uley) and Tyson Houseman (Quil Ateara) plus Gil Birmingham (Billy Black). While the film's romantic leads Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) and Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) are not present, their images are everywhere: on T-shirts ("Robsessed"), on mugs ("Team Edward"), and on bags ("I freakin love Edward Cullen"). In the dealer's room, fans can also buy Twilight badges, action figures, baseball boots, plasters and air fresheners. (There are not many men - disappointingly!'Twilight fan Emma (left), with Odette'). There is even a Robert Pattinson snow shaker. 'Love story' Odette's friend Emma makes an observation about the male-female ratio at the convention. "There are not many men - disappointingly!" she says, surveying the hoards of teenage girls. "A big lack of men." Among the 800 attendees, the vast majority are still at school. Emily, 15, from Milton Keynes, says it is Twlight's "intense love story" that appeals to teenage girls. "I got into the books quite a while before the film came out. I'm really excited about New Moon - to see how the characters have progressed." She says she's keen to meet Edi Gathegi: "He seems such a down-to-earth guy, and I thought they'd be stuck up because they're Hollywood stars." Emily's friend Ellie, from Northampton, adds: "We've got school on Monday but we won't be able to stop talking about it. In our school literally the whole of Year 11 loves Twilight." Emily adds: "It's 10 million times better than Harry Potter!" Both girls say they are looking forward to the three themed parties that will run each night of the convention - baseball, masquerade and 1920s. 'You're so cute!' Ahead of the baseball party, the opening ceremony takes place in the main hall. Organiser Jason Joiner, of Massive Events, makes a plea for the audience not to "squeal" as the guests arrive. Instead there are screams and whoops. Edi Gathegi is first up on stage. "You beautiful UK people!" He has them eating out of his hand in seconds. Next it's Tyson Houseman, a newcomer to the Twilight family and at his first UK convention. "I have always wanted to run onto a stage and yell 'Hello England!' really loud," he says. "You're so cute!" calls a woman's voice in the audience. "Don't try to jump on me, I'm really sick right now," says Houseman, who is genuinely nursing a cold. 'Weird encounters'(Gathegi (centre) and Lefevre (right) appear in both Twilight and its sequel, New Moon). Away from the excited fans, Houseman downs a hot honey and lemon and ponders how New Moon will change his life. "A lot of people I've met so far haven't been too crazy or too scary," he says, "but I know the other guys have had some weird encounters. "Taylor [Lautner - who plays Jacob Black] was telling me there was a 40-year-old woman who pulled down her pants and she had Taylor's name on her underwear. I'm trying to prepare myself for that kind of thing." Co-star Edi Gathegi says: "I've been with this movie since the beginning and I feel like I've been on this never-ending rollercoaster. The fans are some of the most amazing that anybody can ask for." He sees the romantic backdrop to the story as a key factor in its success. "It's romance first and vampires second, so it draws teenage girls in their millions." 'Not just for girls' (Shaun from Dublin says being one of the few males "has its perks") Caralee Loonat, from Batley, West Yorkshire, who is attending the convention with her 10-year-old daughter, agrees: "I like vampires I like love stories - it's a good mix." One of the handful of male fans at the hotel is Shaun Hancock from Dublin. It's his first convention and he's just emerged from a photoshoot with Rachelle Lefevre. "My friend dared me to get Rachelle to bite my neck!" he laughs. "I read the books about six months before the first movie. It's like a drug, you get addicted to them, you have to read them over and over. "It's not just for girls, there's fighting stuff that would catch guys' eyes." There are other European fans too, including some from Sweden and France. Nadege, from Lyon, says: "I write for a website and I sometimes talk to the actors on the phone, but I want to meet them so I am coming here." Her friend Doriane, from Bordeaux, at her first convention, has just met Rachelle Lefevre. "It was awesome," she says. Gold pass (Nadege and Doriane crossed the Channel to meet the stars) Of course, being a Twilight fan takes time - and money. Rebecca, 15, from Newbury has paid £195 for gold pass access to her heroes. The price includes an intimate drinks reception. "You get to meet famous people and you don't normally get to do that," says Rebecca, who adds that her mother paid for the ticket. She admits it can be daunting to meet someone famous for the first time. "You have to forget about that," says Rebecca, "and think of them as another person, or you'd be stuttering all the time - which I did a little bit." She says she's most excited about meeting actor Chaske Spencer. Why? "Because he's hot." Sheep machine If there's any evidence needed that the stars are happy to mix informally with their public, witness the scene at the first night baseball party. A huge crowd suddenly gathers around the "bucking sheep" machine in the main hall, whooping and cheering. Astride the sheep is actress Rachelle Lefevre. She hangs on like a tenacious vampire, until she's flung to the ground in a blaze of red hair. That really is what you'd call getting down with the fans. Twilight: New Moon is released in the UK on 20 November.

Sex attacks by women on children soar

Reports of women carrying out sex attacks on children have soared in the last five years, a charity said on Monday.ChildLine said there had been a 132 percent rise in reports of female sex abuse made to its telephone helpline, compared to a 27 percent rise in abuse by men in the same five-year period. "Most sex abuse calls to ChildLine come from girls saying they were assaulted by a male," said Sue Minto, head of the helpline. "But a growing number of callers now say they were sexually abused by a female. Many would find it shocking that any woman -- let alone a mother -- can sexually assault a child. But they do." Britain has been stunned by a number of high profile sex abuse cases involving women in recent months. Last month Vanessa George, a female nursery worker and a married mother-of-two admitted a string of sexual assaults and making indecent images of children. One of George's two co-accused who admitted similar charges was a woman. ChildLine said last year it had heard from 2,142 children who said they had been abused by a woman, almost a quarter of all cases where the abuser's gender could be identified. The report said 1,311 children said they had been sexually abused by their mother, 61 percent of calls about female sex abuse, although more than twice as many said they had been abused by their father. "This report reveals that ChildLine, by listening to the direct and authentic voices of abused children, has shattered common myths about sexual abuse," said Esther Rantzen, President of ChildLine. "It does not only happen to girls, as many people believe, it happens to boys too. Mothers can sometimes sexually abuse their sons".-(my view)-And woman BITCH about men being perverts and pedo's.......WELL FUCK YOU!your sick like other male pedo's,do NOT preach to us how sick the male mind/actions are when you do the same...i am NOT taken the sick males side on this.....all i am saying here is....STOP thinking your better then us when your the same!

Pc in court over police dog deaths

(Regarding the article i posted a few mouths back on this case on the day it happened)....he's due in court......... A police dog handler accused of leaving two of his German Shepherds to bake to death in his car is due to appear in court. Pc Mark Johnson faces one charge of causing unnecessary suffering to the animals after he allegedly left the police dogs to die in the back of his car on June 30 of this year. The 40-year-old is due to attend a hearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court from 9.45am on Monday, accused of leaving his dogs, Jet, 10, and 18-month-old Jay-Jay, to die after he popped into Nottinghamshire Police's HQ in Arnold. The prosecution is being brought by the RSPCA, which accuses Johnson of "unnecessarily confining them (his dogs) in an environment that was detrimental to their well-being". The deaths happened on one of the hottest days of the year, when temperatures reached 29.3C (84.7F).

'Retrain ex-troops' as teachers

Ex-servicemen and women should be retrained as teachers to bring military style discipline to tough inner city schools, a think tank has said. The government is being urged to adopt a US-style programme returning former soldiers, sailors and airmen to school. The Centre for Policy Studies says ex-soldiers could have a profound effect on discipline and learning. The Conservatives are backing the idea, saying children need order and role models for self-discipline. A report by think tanks says the fact that ex-soldiers had a macho image could help engender respect - particularly among boys. The Troops to Teachers (T3) programme in the US retrains soldiers with a minimum of 10 years' experience, and a degree, as fully certificated teachers. Those with lower qualifications are retrained as vocational teachers. Some 16,000 service personnel have qualified as teachers since T3 was set up in the US in 1994. The report said the programme had been an "outstanding success", with some 88% remaining in the profession three years after they qualified. This compared to the usual retention rate for teachers in the US of 50% after five years. The report suggested ex-servicemen could have a particularly strong effect on discipline and learning. "This is not merely because ex-servicemen are sure of their own moral authority. "They are not intimidated by adrenaline-fuelled adolescents: they have, unlike most teachers, been there before," it added. It also argued that the perception that these teachers had been in a "macho profession" would be well-received by inner city children. "Whether we like it or not, children from more deprived neighbourhoods often respond to raw physical power," it added. 'Terrific boost' Chief of Defence Staff Lord Guthrie said knife crime, drugs and violence were reported daily in the inner cities. He said the T3 programme was a "possible answer" that had been shown to work in the US. "This will not, of course, solve all the problems of the inner city. But it will help," he said. "It will provide youths with role models who understand discipline and self-restraint at the time in their lives when they need it most. And it will be a terrific boost for our Armed Services." The charity Skill Force is already running a similar programme with 35 teams across 200 schools in England, Scotland and Wales, and the report says it could be expanded with government help. Shadow Children's Secretary Michael Gove said helping soldiers retrain as teachers would be great for our schools. "Many British schools need a change of culture because they face real problems with violence and bad behaviour. "Children, particularly in the worst schools, desperately need order and role models for self-discipline." A Department for Children, Schools and Families spokesman said: "We know that professionals with industry experience can make really inspirational teachers and we are always looking to recruit teachers who have skills in other fields." The Ministry of Defence said it was already working with the Department for Children, Schools and Families on a scheme to encourage more ex-military personnel to consider secondary-level teaching. A spokesman said help and advice on pursuing a career in education formed part of the resettlement package for service leavers. -(my view)- Ok but what if one day that teacher(who was in the army)began to have flashbacks of killing an enemy and kills a child instead..thinking it her/she was the enemy...what then? it'll be the governments fault-and after that happens(like with everything that goes wrong)the government ALWAYS says"Lessons Have Been Learned".....to which they do FUCK ALL ie:ex soldiers WILL still be in schools teaching..OUR KIDS ARE AT RISK!!!........bit by bit they are AMERICANIZING England...and i fucking hate it.....no offence to my American friends but they laws you have are REALLY stupid and put lives in danger and now....OUR government wants to kiss your government asses.......i can't wait to die!

Obama pledge to Native Americans

US President Barack Obama has vowed not to forget American Indian tribes, as representatives gathered for a White House conference on native issues. The first annual White House Tribal Nations Conference brings together one delegate from each of the 564 federally recognised American Indian tribes. It is the first time in US history that they will all meet a sitting president. The event is part of Mr Obama's efforts to build bridges with American Indian and Alaska Native communities. In opening remarks, which received a standing ovation, Mr Obama said: "You will not be forgotten as long as I'm in this White House." The event's agenda covers a variety of issues, from centuries old broken treaty promises to more modern issues such as healthcare, crime and poverty. Mr Obama said he had asked every cabinet agency to provide him with a plan on how to improve relations between the government and tribes. "We're not going to go through the motions and pay tribute to each other, then furl up the flags and go our separate ways," he was quoted as saying by Associated Press. The president acknowledged the US federal government's history of ignoring the needs and rights of American Indians and Alaska Natives. Election pledges Mr Obama also said the widespread social and economic struggles faced by the communities were not acceptable and would change while he remained in office. The historic summit is the first time such a large number of tribal leaders have attended a single gathering with the federal government. Since taking office a year ago, the Obama administration has allocated $3bn (£1.8bn) in stimulus funding to American Indian programmes. The president also appointed a member of the Cherokee Nation to his White House team as senior policy adviser for Native American affairs - fulfilling an election campaign pledge. He also appointed an American Indian as director of the Indian Health Service within the Department of Health and Human Services - the first such appointment. There are about two million Native Americans in the United States and one million in Canada.

Royal Mail strikes are called off

The postal strikes have been called off until at least the New Year to allow for fresh talks between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union. TUC general secretary Brendan Barber said the decision had been made to provide "a period of calm" in which the two sides could reach a long-term deal. As a result, he said Royal Mail deliveries would be "free of any disruption" over Christmas. Yet Mr Barber added that securing a final deal remained a long way away. The industrial dispute has been over the level of job losses the Royal Mail says are necessary as part of its modernisation plans. While the CWU accepts that some redundancies are required, the two sides disagree over their extent. They also disagree over changes to pay and working conditions for Royal Mail staff that remain in their jobs. "The agreement reached today is a very important step forward, but it is a long way to the end of the road," said Mr Barber. He added that both Royal Mail and the CWU recognised that trust between the two sides had to be improved.-(my view)-At least i can send packages and letters again!

Who Is Obama..REALLY....Who Is He?

Net Neutrality illustrated: so THAT'S what it means

If you think those cable TV weasels are bugging you now with their greedy tiered pricing, take a look at what could happen if they succeed at smacking down net neutrality. This graphic was created by a clever Reddit reader. The concept of net neutrality seems like some kind of dry political issue, but when you see what could happen if Big Cable gets its way, it hits home. So how would you feel about being nickel and dimed to death, forced to pay, say, $5 extra if you want to search Google, another $10 if you'd like to watch YouTube videos? Oh, but if you were using Road Runner, for example, all Time Warner sites and videos would come to you at no extra charge. Just so you know where politicians stand on this: Obama's FCC is taking steps to insure net neutrality, while Senator John McCain has introduced a bill to block the FCC's net neutrality rules. And you thought the 2008 election was over. Where do you stand, readers?-(my view)-Just another one of Obama's plans to controll us all and to silence freedom of speech.........but you STILL voted for the wrong fuckturd

Antigravity Emdrive could change everything

Inventor Roger Shawyer's antigravity drive could bring George Jetson's flying car into reality. Shawyer says he's working on a version of his superconductor-packing Emdrive that can generate 300 pounds of thrust using a 6 kW input. The idea is to silently lift vehicles, spacecraft or missiles with the Emdrive, and then propel those projectiles forward using other means such as rocket or jet engines. Is this mad scientist and his antigravity drive for real? We'll see. Scientists all over the world are squabbling over whether it's possible to use the Emdrive's high-power microwaves inside a closed system to create thrust from electrical power. Chinese scientists are building one of the drives to be tested by the end of this year, and the British National Space Centre is investigating his claims — but an Australian researcher calls the inventor a "crackpot" and a "charlatan." Undaunted, Shawyer is moving forward with his plan to build an unmanned demonstration vehicle, defying gravity thanks to four of his Emdrives. Shawyer says those four modules will silently lift the 1000-pound vehicle, and it'll be propelled forward with jet engines, reaching a speed of 230 knots. This tech could also have scary military implications, allowing weapons to be launched with no exhaust plume, making them undetectable. In 10 years the scientist wants to build a space plane that can make the 10,000 mile trip from London to Sydney in under three hours, or take 40 tons of cargo to the moon in four days. Here's a video of the Emdrive in action:---(my view)-make up your own mind,to me....i think there's NOT enough movement and proof.

Climate change 'can kill children'

A quarter of a million children could die next year due to the effects of climate change, Save the Children warned. The charity said the figure could rise to more than 400,000 per year by 2030. Its report Feeling the Heat, which is launched, claims that climate change is the biggest global health threat to children in the 21st century. The charity predicts that 175 million children a year - equivalent to almost three times the population of Great Britain - will suffer the consequences of natural disasters like cyclones, droughts and floods by 2030. It warns that more than 900 million children in the next generation will be affected by water shortages and 160 million more children will be at risk of catching malaria - one of the biggest killers of children under five - as it spreads to new parts of the world. Save the Children is urging world leaders to put children first during climate change negotiations in Barcelona this week, ahead of the Copenhagen summit in December. Ultravox star Midge Ure, a Save the Children ambassador, recently returned to Ethiopia 25 years after the 1984 famine which prompted him to create Band Aid with Bob Geldof. "Climate change is no longer a distant, futuristic scenario, but an immediate threat," he said. "We've all heard about the East African food crisis but I've been in Ethiopia seeing first hand the impact it's having on children's lives. "I've seen how vulnerable children are to the effects of climate change."

Kate Winslet accepts libel payout(you will not believe this)

Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet has accepted £25,000 libel damages over a claim made by the Daily Mail that she lied about her exercise regime. The settlement was agreed at London's High Court on Tuesday, but the actress was not present for the hearing. In May, the 34-year-old filed legal papers saying she was "distressed and embarrassed" by the feature. In a statement the actress said: "I am delighted that the Mail have apologised for making false allegations about me." She added: "I was particularly upset to be accused of lying about my exercise regime and felt that I had a responsibility to request an apology in order to demonstrate my commitment to the views that I have always expressed about body issues, including diet and exercise. "I strongly believe that women should be encouraged to accept themselves as they are, so to suggest that I was lying was an unacceptable accusation of hypocrisy." 'Irritating actress' The star, who won an Oscar for The Reader, said the claims injured her personal and professional reputation. The offending article, headlined "Should Kate Winslet win an Oscar for the world's most irritating actress?" was printed in January. Her solicitor, Rachel Atkins, told Mr Justice Eady the feature was accompanied by several naked photographs of the actress in various films and was offensive in tone. "The claimant has frequently asserted the right of women to accept the way that they look and by accusing her of trying to mislead the public, the defendant caused her a great deal of distress. It was simply not true," Ms Atkins said. The newspaper published an apology in September, accepting that Winslet had not lied about how much she exercised, and agreed to pay the damages and costs. The article disputed a quote given to Elle magazine, in which Winslet said: "I don't go to the gym because I don't have time, but I do Pilates workout DVDs for 20 minutes or more every day at home." In 2007, Winslet accepted an undisclosed settlement from Grazia magazine over allegations that she had visited a diet doctor. The publication apologised and accepted that Winslet had visited a doctor to be treated for a neck problem. .-(my view)-You got to be fucking kidding me.........she has millions from being in a movie and more as shes in more flicks.......and she wants more money from a lie......a paper told and her exercise regime, for fuck sake!,there's people starving in the world which SHE said she cares about and cried over film's being shown about starving people.....SHE(I'm not going to say earn, people do not"except disabled people")has got millions from being in shit movies ect flashing her SAGGY TITS and bush......well...all of her fugly self,so she has NO RIGHT suing them,papers.....85%of the time lie about some of the stuff they print........i am speechless now......I'm so mad......you bitch!!!!

File-sharers are big spenders too

People who download music illegally also spend an average of £77 a year buying it legitimately, a survey has found. Those who claimed not to use peer-to-peer filesharing sites such as The Pirate Bay spent a yearly average of just £44. Almost one in 10 of those questioned aged between 16 and 50 said they downloaded music illegally. However, eight out of 10 of that group also bought CDs, vinyl and as MP3s. A total of 1008 people in the UK took part in the online poll commissioned by researchers Demos. Half the group (50%) accessed music officially via YouTube, and 22% listened to internet radio. Napster, once a pioneer of music filesharing, was used by just 4%, with 21% saying they had not heard of it. Music streaming service Spotify was used by 9% of the group, most of whom had not signed up for the paid-for premium service. However, it was rated highly for being easy to use, convenient and providing access to a wide variety of music. Right price 75% of 16-24 year olds said they were prepared to pay for MP3s. The optimum price for the survey group as a whole was 45 pence for an individual track, with just 2% saying they would pay more than £1. Current chart topper Fight for this Love by Cheryl Cole is priced at 99 pence on iTunes in the UK, and 79 pence on Amazon. "Politicians and music companies need to recognise that the nature of music consumption has changed and consumers are demanding lower prices and easier access to music," said Demos researcher Peter Bradwell. It also raises questions about the draft Digital Economy bill, which is due to be submitted to parliament later this month and proposes disconnecting file-sharers who repeatedly break the law. "The scale of unlawful file-sharing poses a real threat to the long-term sustainability of our creative industries," said a spokesman for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. "While surveys asking people about unlawful behaviour should be treated with caution, it's encouraging that the findings signal that the three-pronged approach set out by the Government this week - a mix of education, enforcement and attractive new commercial deals - provides the best way forward for industry and consumers." -(my view)- File-Sharing should NO.....i repeat NOT be illegal.....people buy the media and DECIDE to be kid to others and share it..........there's NO crime being committed, for only crime here is YOU"the big fat companies" who want more money from the stuff we buy.....YES BUY! all of the stuff i download.....guess what?......98% of every thing i download......I BUY.....and OTHERS BUY to.....it does NOT affect sales in shop and YOUR NOT losing money..it HAS been PROVEN time again, this is just one good report.......i bought a sofa from Argos........does that mean my friends can't sit on it and if they do...they are to give the manufacturer money.......fuck that!!! you guys can go fuck off right now you pathetic morons!
