Rip Torn charged over bank break-in

Elmore "Rip" Torn has been charged with breaking into a Connecticut bank and carrying a loaded handgun while intoxicated. State police say the 78-year-old actor was arrested on Friday night after police found him inside the Litchfield Bancorp with a loaded revolver. The Men In Black star has been taken into custody and charged with burglary and possession of firearm without a permit. He is being held on 100,000 dollar (£62,500) bond and is scheduled for an appearance in Bantam Superior Court. Last year, Torn was given probation in a Connecticut drunken driving case and granted permission to enter an alcohol education programme. He also has two previous drink-driving arrests in New York. A spokesman for Torn did not immediately return phone calls.(my view lol)-So when he goes to jail probably it'll be the last suit he wears(the orange prison uniform or what ever color they wear now)

GMTV breast milk comments spark row

Ofcom is looking into complaints after a midwife suggested during a TV debate that breast milk may not be any better for older children than drinking cola. The comments were made on GMTV, during a discussion hosted by Lorraine Kelly tackling the "taboo" subject of breastfeeding older infants, which also included opinions from members of the public. Midwife and breastfeeding specialist Clare Byam-Cook, one of three guests involved in the studio debate, told GMTV: "Breast milk beyond the age of two isn't necessarily good because it's very, very sweet... "The fact that it's breast milk doesn't make it any better than a glass of Coca-Cola. It does damage babies' teeth." Ann Sinnott, author of a book about breastfeeding older children, challenged her view, asking what the evidence was. She said: "There is no solid research on this at all." Mother Nicola Harris, who is breastfeeding her four-year-old child, told the ITV1 debate on Thursday that her daughter has perfect teeth. Ms Byam-Cook told GMTV she is all for breastfeeding, but this became a "private decision" beyond the age of about two. She said: "I certainly don't see why babies should decide. If your toddler decided that she wanted to spend all day eating sweets, watching television, going to bed at midnight would you say: 'Well that's your choice?' No." It is understood GMTV received between 10 and 20 emails responding to the item, giving a range of opinions. A spokesman for Ofcom said: "We have received a small number of complaints which are being assessed against the Broadcasting Code." A spokeswoman for the show said: "We are satisfied that we presented a fair and balanced item. "Each guest was given ample time to express their views." (my view)-I disagree, breastmilk is better then cola,i drink both and breastmilk has won hands down in my book and breastmilk/breastfeeding is healthier and has many benefits....i down get sick as much 87% less illness, and i can think more clearly

Poltergeist actress Zelda Rubinstein dies, aged 76

Zelda Rubinstein, the US actress best known for her role as the diminutive psychic in 1982 film Poltergeist, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 76. The 4ft 3in (1.29m) actress died in hospital on Wednesday after recently suffering a heart attack, her agent told the Los Angeles Times. Eccentric medium Tangina Barrons was her first major role and one she reprised in two Poltergeist sequels. More recently, Rubinstein appeared in Southland Tales and TV's Picket Fences. She also appeared in a high-profile Aids public awareness campaign in the 1980s and was an outspoken activist for the rights of people of restricted height.
Haunted house
Born in Pittsburgh in 1933, the former lab technician was almost 50 when she made her big-screen debut as a woman playing a Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz in 1982's Under the Rainbow. Poltergeist followed, in which her character came to the assistance of a suburban family living in a haunted house. Fans will remember her child-like voice exhorting spirits to "go into the light" before declaring "this house is clean". She went on to appear with Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles, before returning as Tangina in Poltergeist II: The Other Side and Poltergeist III. Rubinstein was sent to hospital at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center two months ago, after suffering a mild heart attack. "She had ongoing health issues and unfortunately they finally overtook her," her agent Eric Stevens said.

India announces first manned space mission

India's space agency has said it will launch its first manned mission to space in 2016.
India's space programme is more than 45 years old
A senior official of the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) in Bangalore said that two astronauts would take part. "We are preparing for the manned space flight," Isro Chairman K Radhakrishnan told reporters. "We will design and develop the space module for the manned mission in the next four years," he said. Observers say India is emerging as a major player in the multi-billion dollar space market. In September it launched seven satellites in a single mission, nearly a month after the country's inaugural Moon mission was aborted. Key architect Isro says that it will soon shortlist two astronauts to train for the space flight. The manned mission will cost 124 billion rupees ($2,676,740,597). Delhi has given its approval for the mission, space officials told the BBC. India's space agency is also setting up a full-fledged training facility in Bangalore to train the astronauts. The country's first unmanned Moon mission, Chandrayaan, was launched last year. The second unmanned project, Chandrayaan-II, will be launched in the first quarter of 2013 - a prelude to the manned space mission. India's first Moon mission had to be terminated because of a failure of critical communication components, but Isro officials termed the mission a success because 95% of the scientific objectives were completed. India also plans a mission to Mars in 2030.

Teen Pregnancy, Abortions Up

First Jump in More than a Decade May Increase Scrutiny on Sex Education The pregnancy rate among teenage girls in the United States has jumped for the first time in more than a decade, raising alarm that the long campaign to reduce motherhood among adolescents is faltering, according to a report released Tuesday. The pregnancy rate among 15-to-19-year-olds increased 3 percent between 2005 and 2006 - the first jump since 1990, according to an analysis of the most recent data collected by the federal government and the nation's leading reproductive-health think tank. Teen pregnancy has long been one of the most pressing social issues and has triggered intense political debate over sex education, particularly whether the federal government should fund programs that encourage abstinence until marriage or focus on birth control. "The decline in teen pregnancy has stopped - and in fact has turned around," said Lawrence Finer, director of domestic research for the Guttmacher Institute, the nonprofit, nonpartisan research group in New York that conducted the analysis. "These data are certainly cause for concern." The abortion rate also inched up for the first time in more than a decade - rising 1 percent - intensifying concern across the ideological spectrum. "One of the nation's shining success stories of the past two decades is in danger of unraveling," said Sarah Brown of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. "Clearly, the nation's collective efforts to convince teens to postpone childbearing must be more creative and more intense, and they must begin today." The cause of the increase is the subject of debate. Several experts blamed the increase in teen pregnancies on sex-education programs that focus on encouraging abstinence. Others said the reversal could be due to a variety of factors, including an increase in poverty, an influx of Hispanics and complacency about AIDS, prompting lax use of birth control such as condoms. "It could be a lot of things coming together," said Rebecca Maynard, a professor of economics and social policy at the University of Pennsylvania. "It could be we just bottomed out, and whenever you are at the bottom, it tends to wiggle around. This may or may not be a sustained rise." The report comes as Congress might consider restoring federal funding to sex-education programs that focus on abstinence. The Obama administration eliminated more than $150 million in funds for such groups, but the Senate's health-care reform legislation would reinstate $50 million. The new findings immediately set off a debate over funding. Critics argued that the disturbing new data were just the latest in a long series of indications that the focus on abstinence programs was a dismal failure. "Now we know that after 10 years and over $1.5 billion in abstinence-only funding, the U.S. is lurching backwards on teen sexual health," said James Wagoner of Advocates for Youth, a Washington advocacy group. Supporters of abstinence programs, however, said the findings provided powerful evidence of the need to continue to encourage delayed sexual activity, not only to avoid pregnancy but also to reduce the risk for AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. (my view)-It maybe sex ed,BUT it is the little fuckers*teens*hell..and it's the government to as the will NOT make it illegal for under 21's to have kids, the rules are simple:
1-21 and over is the legal age to have children.
2-Rule 1 must be met either by marriage and money to support said children.
3-Failure to abide by these terms WILL result in prison and your children fostered,permanently...your right to reclaim said child will NOT be allowed.
So you broke the law-congratulations kid..your officially a moron. ect........you get me?

Obama Economic Plan Seeks Budget Freeze

3-Year Freeze Would Affect $477 Billion for Domestic Programs; Plan to be Announced in State of the Union Address CBS/AP) President Barack Obama is expected to ask for a three-year freeze on part of the federal budget when he gives his State of the Union address Wednesday night. The freeze would affect about $477 billion in money available for domestic agencies whose budgets are approved by Congress each year. It's a relatively small portion of the federal budget and is considered discretionary spending. The Pentagon, veterans programs, foreign aid and Homeland Security would be exempt from the freeze, which would have only a modest impact on a deficit expected to match last year's $1.4 trillion. Steps needed to really tackle the deficit include tax increases and curbs on benefit programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. That's why Mr. Obama is backing a plan to create a task force to address the problem. But Senate sponsors of the plan say it's attracted too much opposition from the right and left to prevail. Fresh numbers on the deficit are due from the Congressional Budget Office later Tuesday. They're expected to bring more bad news as the president faces mounting voter anger. On Monday, Mr. Obama unveiled plans to help a middle class "under assault" pay its bills, save for retirement and care for kids and aging parents. The three-year spending freeze plan will be part of the budget Mr. Obama will submit Feb. 1, senior administration officials said, commenting on condition of anonymity to reveal private details. Calling it "good politics" for Mr. Obama to say he wants to cut the deficit, CBS News chief Washington correspondent Bob Schieffer said the president will likely face a Congress uneasy about cutting pet programs. "Whether he can get it passed in an election year…I think is another matter," Schieffer said. A senior congressional aide says the latest estimates put this year's federal budget deficit at $1.35 trillion Tuesday. CBS News chief political consultant Marc Ambinder said that the effect of a freeze on the budget, deficit and debt will probably be negligible. As The New York Times reported Tuesday: "The payoff in budget savings would be small relative to the deficit: The estimated $250 billion in savings over 10 years would be less than 3 percent of the roughly $9 trillion in additional deficits the government is expected to accumulate over that time." Obama's Populist Message: What the Country Can Do for You Mr. Obama's separate public comments previewed the State of the Union address he will deliver Wednesday night. Special Report: Obama's 2010 State of the Union The measures are not intended to create jobs - but to ease the pain, reports CBS News senior White House correspondent Bill Plante reports. "The president is waiting for the economy to turn around and in the interim the best that can happen for him is that people see he is on the case, that he's working for them," said CBS News' John Dickerson. The initiatives amount to a package of tax credits, spending expansions and new mandates on employers to encourage retirement savings by workers. Mr. Obama's State of the Union address will outline his second-year agenda across a spectrum of issues, including tighter rules on Wall Street behavior and a push for financial discipline in Washington. He also is expected to touch on the controversial issue of gays in the military. Among the president's economic ideas: - Nearly doubling the tax credit that families making under $85,000 can receive for child care costs, with some help for families earning up to $115,000, too. - Capping the size of periodic federal college loan repayments at 10 percent of borrowers' discretionary income to make payments more affordable. - Increasing by $1.6 billion the money pumped into a federal fund to help working parents pay for child care, covering an estimated 235,000 additional children. - Requiring employers who don't offer 401(k) retirement plans to offer direct-deposit IRAs for their employees, with exemptions for the smallest firms. - Spending more than $100 million to help people care for their elderly parents and get support for themselves as well. In The New York Times Op-Ed section Tuesday, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., proposed a new version of a job tax credit. The senators write: "Starting immediately after enactment, any private-sector employer that hires a worker who had been unemployed for at least 60 days will not have to pay its 6.2 percent Social Security payroll tax on that employee for the duration of 2010. The Social Security trust fund will then be made whole with spending cuts elsewhere in the budget between now and 2015. That's it." The White House maintained that its imperative still is to create jobs. Unemployment remains in double digits, and the economy is the public's top concern. Yet Mr. Obama said that squeezed families need help in other ways, too: paying for child care, helping out aging parents, saving for retirement, paying off college debt. What matters ultimately to people, Mr. Obama said, is "whether they see some progress in their own lives. So we're going to keep fighting to rebuild our economy so that hard work is once again rewarded, wages and incomes are once again rising, the middle class is once again growing." Less clear was how much the programs would cost or where the money would come from. Officials deferred comment until the release of the budget. Mr. Obama, whose poll numbers are off, is trying to sharpen his economic message in a way that shows people he is on their side. White House officials say they know people have been turned off by the long, messy fight for health insurance reform. Plus, there's a perception that families have gotten far less help than big banks. The economy is growing, but not fast enough to bring down widespread joblessness. The unemployment rate is at 10 percent and most economists say it could take until at least 2015 for it to return to more normal levels. The plans Mr. Obama set forth came from the yearlong work of a task force, led by Vice President Joe Biden, that was charged with helping the middle class. "We're talking about dignity. We're talking about security," Biden said. "We're talking about knowing your pension is safe, your health insurance is reliable, your elderly parents and your children are going to be cared for, your neighborhood is safe."

2 DC transit workers killed while working on Maryland tracks in latest deaths on Metro system

An NTSB investigator takes photogrphs of the high rail truck involved in an accident which killed two metro workers in Rockville, Md. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010. The accident occurred about 1:45 a.m. as the automatic train technicians worked to install new train control equipment in the track bed.(AP Photo/Jose Luis Magana) (Jose Luis Magana, AP / January 26, 2010) WASHINGTON (AP) — Two veteran workers on the Washington area's transit system were struck and killed by a maintenance truck while working on a track Tuesday, the latest in a string of fatalities on the Metro system since last year. Jeff Garrard, 49, and Sung Oh, 68, were installing safety equipment on a track that was closed to regular service for the night when they were hit. One of them died at the scene, a few blocks from the Rockville Metro Station in Maryland, and the other on the way to a hospital. Metro says both men lived in Montgomery County, Md., and were automatic train control technicians. They were hit by a large truck equipped to drive on the track when electricity is shut down. Garrard, of Clarksburg, had worked for Metro since 1990, and Oh had worked there since 1998. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident. The Metro system, which extends into the suburbs to link the capital with neighboring areas of Maryland and Virginia, has seen a series of fatal accidents and mishaps since last year. The worst was a June crash that killed eight passengers and the train operator. Two other workers were killed in separate accidents last year. Last month, a team of inspectors was nearly hit by a train that Metro officials say was traveling too fast. Three workers were hurt in November when a train returning to a northern Virginia rail yard hit a parked train. The latest accident came about two weeks after Metro held a three-day workshop on track safety with experts from around the country. "We have intensified safety — there's no question about it, partly in light of the deaths of the two employees," Metro board chairman Jim Graham told WTOP radio Tuesday. "There's a lot that's been put into this, but something went terribly wrong this morning." Jackie L. Jeter, president of Almagated Transit Union Local 689, which represents Metro workers, urged the transit agency to take steps to ensure the safety of workers and riders. Jeter said the union was cooperating in the investigation. Tuesday's deaths occurred at about 1:45 a.m. The accident disrupted the morning rush hour for many commuters from Maryland as red line service was shut down between the Shady Grove and Twinbrook stations while the crash was investigated. Shuttle service was being provided between the stations. The employees who were killed were installing new automatic train control equipment in the track bed. A failure in the automatic train control system, which detects the presence of a train on the track, is believed to have contributed to the June crash. However, Metro spokesman Steven Taubenkibel said the work being done Tuesday morning was routine maintenance. Besides the string of accidents, Metro faces an uncertain budget picture and will likely have to raise fares or cut service. The agency's general manager, John Catoe, unexpectedly announced his resignation earlier this month. Catoe joined the agency three years ago, pledging to make safety the No. 1 priority. His last day will be April 2. Graham said safety would be strengthened if the federal government established safety standards for transit agencies. Last month, the Obama administration asked Congress to give the Federal Transit Administration authority to impose safety standards on subways, light rail and other urban train systems. Current law prohibits the federal government from doing so.

Teen Arrested For Wrapping Cat In Duct Tape

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (USA TODAY) -- Investigators say a Philadelphia teenager wrapped a cat in duct tape, put it in a shopping bag and left it in a neighbor's backyard. The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says 19-year-old James Davis was arrested Saturday night on animal cruelty charges. Official George Bengal says Davis admitted to taping up the cat from neck to tail after he spotted it in his yard Sept. 21. He did not turn himself in, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer story.
Bengal told the Inquirer:
"Davis left the cat in his yard for a couple of hours, then, because the animal kept screaming, tossed it into a neighbor's yard, where at least 12 hours passed before she was noticed and authorities were contacted." The gray tabby was nicknamed Sticky by animal welfare workers. It was dehydrated and had to be sedated while the tape was cut off its fur. Animal welfare workers are still looking for Sticky's owner. Davis faces up to two years in prison and a minimum $1,000 fine if convicted.(my view)-What the fuck is wrong with kids today!if convicted...IF........if i was a judge i will not let him pass go or a fine....he'll go to jail and duct tape his pubes then rip the tape off...see how funny that is!.

Sex on duty police officer pleads guilty to misconduct

A Metropolitan Police officer has pleaded guilty to misconduct after he had sex on duty with a woman he was meant to be helping. Pc James Formby, 31, and a colleague responded to a suspected domestic abuse incident in Bromley last September. He stayed with the woman while a man was taken to a police station. He engaged in sexual activity with the woman, who had been drinking. Formby, who has been suspended from the force, will be sentenced on 1 March. The officer, based at Bromley Police station, pleaded guilty to one charge of misconduct in public office at Southwark Crown Court on Tuesday.
'Vulnerable and scared'
The investigation was carried out by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) following a referral from the Met. IPCC Commissioner Rachel Cerfontyne said: "Police officers hold a unique position of trust in the eyes of the public and it is disgraceful that Pc Formby abused that trust in this case. "He should have been supporting a woman who was vulnerable and scared, but instead he exploited the situation and his behaviour was completely inappropriate." A police spokesman said Pc Formby had been suspended pending disciplinary hearings, which will take place after sentencing. Det Insp Ralph Hyde, from the Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS), said: "Officers from the Met's DPS conducted a thorough investigation which was managed by the IPCC. "Undoubtedly it is at least partly as a result of this thorough investigation that today's guilty plea was given. "It is important to remember that the majority of officers and staff act with professionalism and integrity."

Immigrant killer to remain in UK

An Iraqi immigrant who stabbed two doctors to death has won the right to stay in Britain, the Home Office has confirmed. Laith Alani, 41, a paranoid schizophrenic, was allowed to remain in the UK after a judge ruled he would pose a danger to the public in his homeland. An immigration tribunal decided that he should not be deported to Iraq because it would breach his human rights and put people there at risk, the Sunday Telegraph reported. Alani killed Michael Masser and Kenneth Paton, both consultant cosmetic surgeons, at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in November 1990. Alani has spent the past 19 years in a secure hospital after he stabbed the two NHS consultants because he believed he had received a "command from Allah". He appealed to the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (AIT) where a panel led by Lance Waumsley, a senior immigration judge, ruled that he could remain in the UK. Immigration Minister Phil Woolas said: "The UK Border Agency vigorously opposes any appeal against deportation, but when the courts insist an individual cannot be removed we have to accept their judgment." The paper reported one of the reasons given by the judges was that if Alani was sent back to Iraq he would be unlikely to receive medicine which keeps his paranoid schizophrenia under control. Alani was understood to have been receiving the drug clozapine on the NHS for 10 years, and the AIT was told it was the only medication found suitable to treat his mental condition. Mr Paton's widow, Dorothy, from Ossett, near Wakefield, told the paper: "I think he should be deported. I argued that at the time of the trial. I think he is going to be a danger to people in Britain. He is a dangerous man."(my view)-OUR government IS RUN BY COMPLETE MORONS-kill the fucker NOW

Devon woman jailed for 'sick son' con

A mother has been jailed for subjecting her son to "enduring" cruelty by pretending he was severely ill, to gain publicity and financial rewards.
The actions of Lisa Hayden-Johnson, 35, from Devon, led to him being operated on, Exeter Crown Court heard. She also presented him in a wheelchair to the Duchess of Cornwall, appeared on television and spent charity donations. She was jailed for three years and three months after admitting cruelty and perverting the course of justice.
'Sadistic fabrication'
The court heard that Hayden-Johnson subjected her son, who is now eight and lives in another part of the country, to a total of 325 medical actions - including being confined to a wheelchair and being fed through a tube in his stomach. She claimed her son suffered from a long list of illnesses including diabetes, food allergies, cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis. Andrew Macfarlane, prosecuting, told the court that Hayden-Johnson's "sadistic fabrication of non-existent symptoms" amounted to "24-hour-a-day torture". He said that the boy's medical treatment meant that the child was socially stigmatised. As a result of Hayden-Johnson's actions, the child underwent a series of "physical intrusions and interventions" which included blood tests and intravenous treatments. Mr Macfarlane said that defendant, who comes from Torbay, achieved national attention as a result of her actions. The court heard that she frequently described her son "as the most ill child in Britain" and that she amassed cash donations and charity gifts, including two cruises. Mr Macfarlane added that boy had been "convinced that he was chronically and seriously ill" and said that the long-term effects of what happened to him remain unclear.
'Disordered and pitiful'
The court was also told that in a bid to avoid a diabetes test arranged for her son in 2007, Hayden-Johnson falsely claimed that she had been sexually assaulted, which later led to her being charged with perverting the course of justice. Sarah Munro, defending, told the court that her client suffered from a factitious disorder and a factitious disorder by proxy. The conditions used to be known as Munchausen syndrome and Munchausen syndrome by proxy. The former can cause sufferers to feign illness to draw attention to themselves and the latter leads to the abuse of another person, again to win sympathy or attention. "It's often said that the question is whether the defendant is sad, mad or bad," she told the court. "Perhaps the reality in a case of this kind is that it's a little bit of all of it." Passing sentence, Judge Stephen Wildblood said five adjectives could sum up Hayden-Johnson - "cruel, manipulative, perverse, disordered and pitiful". He said: "Your son will have to realise the fact that the one person who is supposed to care for and nourish him throughout his childhood was in fact causing him harm. "Your experience in custody will be that people who behave with cruelty to children are received in prison as they are in society - with utter rejection. "Your name and face are well-known throughout the country. You will never be in a position to deceive people in this way again. "Anyone else thinking of behaving this way should think about your much publicised downfall." He also handed her a disqualification order banning her from working with children.
The mother who created her son's phantom illness
Lisa Hayden-Johnson has been jailed for three years and three months after putting her son through years of unnecessary medical treatment. But how did she use his fake illness to dupe doctors, meet the prime minister and rub shoulders with royalty. Lisa Hayden-Johnson attracted sympathy and admiration in equal measure. She seemed to be living every mother's nightmare. Her child, born prematurely, was battling a life-threatening allergy which left him unable to eat. She was stoically coping with this cruel twist of fate, struggling to make her son as happy as possible.
But it was all a lie.
If her goal was to attract attention, she succeeded - appearing on GMTV and selling her story to magazines. Hayden-Johnson even took her son to collect a Children of Courage award at Downing Street where they met the then prime minister Tony Blair and his wife, Cherie. The boy, who believed he was ill, was also introduced to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. In reality, Hayden-Johnson had forced her son into a wheelchair, fed him through a tube and let doctors, taken in by her deception, operate on the child despite the fact that there was nothing wrong with him. And she managed to keep the fabrication from her family, including her husband. The 35-year-old from Brixham, South Devon, has been sentenced at Exeter Crown Court after she pleaded guilty to child cruelty and perverting the course of justice in October 2009. Hayden-Johnson appeared to thrive on the attention that was lavished upon her and her son, who has not been named for legal reasons.
And the lies were lucrative.
She amassed £130,000 in benefits after claiming £20,000 a year in disability living allowance over a six-and-a-half year period.
Unnecessary surgery
Meanwhile, dozens of children's charities gave her freebies including a new car and a cruise in Tenerife. She even received free X Factor tickets. The lies began when the boy was born prematurely in 2001 and given a tube for feeding. He made a recovery but his mother, perhaps seeking more of the attention lavished upon her by sympathetic well-wishers, insisted that this was not the case. For about six years she continued to lie about her son's health, insisting that he was allergic to nearly all food, had cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis, even though medics could not find any symptoms. She also told doctors the child had diabetes and spiked his urine samples with glucose in order to fool tests. Doctors, friends, family and even the boy's father believed the child was unable to eat or swallow food. And the youngster was taken to school in a wheelchair fitted with oxygen bottles. Doctors eventually performed surgery to fit a feeding tube directly into the then four-year-old child's stomach after he began losing large amounts of weight, because of a lack of nutrition.
Fictional qualifications
Meanwhile, she became well known in Brixham where members of the community rallied round to provide whatever help and support they could. But the woman's lies were not only about her child. She also fabricated her qualifications to gain a job as a nurse. And in 2007, when medics insisted that detailed tests should be carried out on her son, Hayden-Johnson claimed she had been sexually assaulted in a bid to cancel the hospital visit. The fantasist also harmed herself in a bid to make the fictitious attack seem authentic. She only admitted that this was a lie when police said they were about to arrest someone. Her fantasy life finally began to unravel when a paediatrician raised the alarm after reviewing her son's medical files and became suspicious that his health problems had gone on for so long without a clear diagnosis. Hayden-Johnson was eventually arrested in October 2007.
'Evil mother'
Her husband was also arrested but, after questioning, police concluded that he had not been aware of the deception and he was released without charge. Last October, two years after her arrest, she pleaded guilty to charges of child cruelty and perverting the course of justice. Following a court hearing, Det Con Mark Uren of Devon and Cornwall Constabulary said of Hayden-Johnson: "She is a cruel, manipulative, evil mother who constantly lied to the medical professionals that her son was the illest child in Britain." He pointed out that this had gone on for "a sustained period of time" during which she had "been calculating" and lied. Det Con Uren revealed that police seized a computer from the woman's house and found a video showing her son eating a roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding at a pub and running without the aid of oxygen or a pump. The boy, who is now eight, lives in another part of the country where he is recovering from the wounds left from an illness he never had. (my view)-imprison her for life.....her whole life...never to be released.

Brown unveils new measures to track terrorist suspects

Fresh measures to track terror suspects and strengthen airport security after the attempted Christmas Day bomb plot have been announced by Gordon Brown. A "no-fly list" is to be set up to stop suspected terrorists from travelling to the UK while other individuals under suspicion will undergo thorough checks. Direct flights between Yemen and the UK are also to be suspended until concerns about their safety are addressed. The UK faced "active" terrorist threats from across the world, the PM said.
'Tracking terrorists'
Mr Brown ordered a review of airport security in the wake of the attempted Christmas Day bombing of a flight to Detroit, believed to have been planned in Yemen. Following the review and further intelligence briefings, he told MPs that the government would introduce a range of measures to protect the UK's borders and further strengthen aviation and airport security. He said the Home Office's current watch list - a register of known criminals and terrorists as well as those considered a threat to security - would be extended to identify those "posing the greatest risk" to the UK. A new "no-fly list" will identify individuals who will not be allowed to enter the country because of suspected terrorist links. Individuals who have attracted the attention of the authorities but are considered lower-risk will be listed in a second category. They will be subject to "special measures", such as more extensive screening, before being allowed to fly to the UK, although officials said they could not divulge what this would entail. By the end of the year, all UK airports and ports will be covered by the e-borders scheme, which he said meant information passengers provide when buying tickets can be checked against the watch lists. Enhanced global co-operation would mean that suspect individuals could be checked against the watch list 24 hours before they boarded a flight to, or via, the UK. Other initiatives he outlined to MPs include new teams of intelligence officers who will seek to identify individuals who present a threat to security early on, well before they come to the UK. Ministers also want the EU, the US and other G8 nations to share intelligence about security threats more effectively and help countries with gaps in their security arrangements to fill them. Mr Brown, who said he had discussed the measures with US President Barack Obama on Tuesday, also confirmed that new full body scanners would be introduced at British airports next week. The prime minister said the objective of the enhanced security measures was to ensure terrorist movements could be "seamlessly tracked and disrupted" both in the UK and abroad. "It is because we fully recognise the global nature of the terrorist threat we face today that our response must be truly global," he said. "Some of the intelligence we need to protect our people against attacks will be here in Britain, some will be held by our international partners and passed to us, just as we help them with information about the threats they face."
Growing radicalisation
Air passengers are set to face further security checks
The Conservatives, who have called for a "radical" rethink of the UK's security approach, welcomed the introduction of a "no-fly list" but said the threat posed by individuals already in the UK must be recognised. Tory leader David Cameron said the man who tried to detonate the Christmas Day bomb was radicalised in the UK before going to Yemen. "Doesn't that show that more needs to be done to tackle radicalisation right here in the UK?", he said. Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg called for guarantees that peoples' civil liberties would be protected amid the tougher measures. The BBC's Security Correspondent Frank Gardner said the move to suspend twice-weekly flights from Yemen to the UK was prompted by concerns that another attack on Western interests could be imminent. UK officials were also worried that airport security at Sana'a, the Yemeni capital, was not good enough, he added. The Nigerian man arrested for the attempted Christmas Day bombing has said he was given the bomb by al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen. A meeting arranged at the end of the month to discuss assistance for Yemen has been downgraded to a two hour session but Mr Brown insisted the international community was still committed to tackling the root causes of extremism in Yemen and UK. He added that by the end of this year, the UK would have given £100m to Yemen since 2007 to support political, social and economic reforms. The prime minister added that UK aviation officials were currently in Yemen to discuss improved aviation security in the country and he hoped flights could be resumed as soon as possible.

MI5 to send e-mail terror alerts

A system sending e-mail terror alerts to the public is being launched by security chiefs at MI5. People will be able to register on the MI5 website to receive updates when the threat level changes. The initiative follows considerable interest in similar information for the public introduced in August on the MI5 and Home Office websites. MI5 chief Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller recently warned that it was tracking at least 30 terror plots against the UK. Whitehall says the move to introduce e-mail terror alerts has been in the pipeline for a while. Members of the public can also register to be notified of any other new information posted on the MI5 website.
Text plans
The Home Office says it is part of a long-planned programme of reaching out to the public and keeping it better informed about the terrorist threat. Plans to extend the service to sending text messages to mobile phones are also being considered. There will be two types of service on offer initially. The BBC's security correspondent Gordon Correra explained people were "not actually getting anymore information than they can get at the moment" but "that information is being made more easily available". "They [MI5] are kind of feeling their way into engaging with the public more and that's partly that what they used to do was so closed and so secret - the world of espionage and spies," he said. "But in the world of terrorism there is a realisation they need to be more public." But he added that one of the difficult questions was what people should do about the information when they receive it: "There's not necessarily that much information on the website about how you should act and how you should respond other than being vigilant and calling a hotline if you see anything suspicious." The first, called Threat Level Only, will inform the recipient if the nationwide terror threat level changes. The condition is currently listed as severe. The second more inclusive service is called What's New, and will be a digest of the latest information from MI5, including speeches made by the director general and links to relevant websites. The level of the terror threat to the UK is assessed by the government's Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre. The current threat is set at the second highest level, "severe", which means an attack is considered "highly likely". In November, Dame Eliza, MI5's director general, warned the terror threat was "serious" and "growing", and that 1,600 individuals were being kept under surveillance. Steve Aukstakalnis works for a company in the United States, Alerts USA, which provides a similar service. He told BBC Five Live: "We'll send an initial 'heads-up' message via the text, but you're limited to about 130 characters in that message. "We follow this up with streaming audio - both live and on demand - which gives additional details, event analysis, further response guidance where necessary and so on, to provide a little bit more of a robust service."
(my view)-This sounds like a government CON....just to spy more on the public and using terrorism as an excuse,,we have to register for the updates on terrorism,YEA!give the government more details of yourself ie:your IP address so they can nose throw your house,DON'T FALL FOR THEIR SHIT PEOPLE

UK terrorist threat level raised to 'severe'

The threat level was last at severe in July 2009. The UK terror threat level is being raised from "substantial" to "severe", Home Secretary Alan Johnson has said. The new alert level means a terrorist attack is considered "highly likely". It had stood at substantial since July. It is in response to the perceived increased threat from international terrorism following the failed Detroit airliner bombing on Christmas day. Mr Johnson stressed there was no intelligence to suggest a terrorist attack was imminent. The decision to raise the threat level was made by the UK's Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC). Mr Johnson said JTAC kept the threat level under constant review, making its judgments based on a broad range of factors, including the intent and capabilities of international terrorist groups in the UK and overseas. He said: "We still face a real and serious threat to the UK from international terrorism, so I would urge the public to remain vigilant and carry on reporting suspicious events to the appropriate authorities and to support the police and security services in their continuing efforts to discover, track and disrupt terrorist activity." There are five levels of terror threat, ranging from low - meaning an attack is unlikely - to critical - when an attack is expected imminently. Severe is the second highest level on the scale.
THREAT LEVEL SYSTEM
Low - attack is unlikely
Moderate - attack is possible, but not likely
Substantial - attack is a strong possibility
Severe - attack is highly likely
Critical - attack is expected imminently

10 Scams To Watch Out For In 2010

1. The job opportunities scam
With unemployment boosted by the recession, this scam is growing in popularity. There you are, scanning a jobs website or the small ads in the hope of earning an honest wage. Or maybe an e-mail arrives promising the job of your dreams. Either way, the job description, company logo and website look legitimate, but when you get to the application form, it demands enough information to impersonate you and borrow money in your name. Double check the company or recruitment organisation independently, using the phone book and friends. If necessary, go the address you're given to be sure it's legitimate.
2. The ticketing scam
You're desperate for tickets to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the Glastonbury festival or another major event but you've left things too late. Then you see an advert promising the tickets you want at a price you can afford. Often, these simply don't turn up but you could be sent fakes. Worse still, the information you give could be used to target your home for a burglary or your identity for a fraud. Stick to official ticket agencies or hospitality companies. It's better to miss an event than to lose your money and identity.
3. Account suspended scam
If you have an e-mail account, there's a fair chance you've received one of these scam e-mails. The mail looks like it's from a legitimate bank and warns you that your bank account has been suspended. Some are pretty convincing, while others can be pretty amateurish (with spelling mistakes and so on). You are then urged to follow a link to the bank's site, which is of course fake and designed to garner your bank details. Your bank should never send you an unsolicited message asking for your details, so it's best to ignore these e-mails. If you are still concerned, you could look up your bank's number online and give them a call.
4. The lottery scam
This type of scam is becoming increasingly prevalent. The criminals contact the victim telling them they have won a substantial prize. However, before they can claim the prize they are told to transfer cash into a nominated bank account. The criminals are then able to funnel cash out of the account. Recently, an elderly woman was scammed out of a whopping £24,000 using this technique. She wasn't even aware she'd been a victim until her bank contacted her. Police said this was a sophisticated ploy in that payment was paid into a genuine and unsuspecting British company's account, which was used as payment for vehicle parts sent to another part of the world, which in turn were sold on by the criminals. It goes without saying that you should be extremely suspicious of anyone phoning or mailing you about a lottery win and its best to avoid.
5. The investment opportunity scam
With interest rates at rock bottom, watch out for offers of brilliant investment opportunities delivering stellar returns. Of course, you have to set up an account with the genius behind this scheme, who not only collects the cash you want to invest but gets the bonus of your full personal and bank account details. Anything that seems too good to be true almost certainly is too good to be true, so don't get involved.
6.The get-rich-quick scam
With money too tight to mention, many people are looking for a second source of income and turn to promises of easy pickings when you work from home, often in your spare time. The price for this opportunity can be high and you never get the information, advice and support you've paid for. Be wary of get-rich-quick schemes that don't tell you what you have to do and how to do it. And look for a money back guarantee if you're not satisfied - genuine companies offer them.
7.The card security code scam
You get a call from someone purporting to be from Visa or MasterCard and asking if you have bought a specific item for a certain price. You say no and they tell you that the transaction has already gone through but they'll refund the money - if you give them the security code on the back of the card. These crooks already have your name, address and card number and can now use the card on the phone or internet. Never give this information out to cold callers. Instead, call the organisation that issued your card - the number will be printed on it - and tell them what's happened. They'll block your account and get you a new card.
8. The charity donation scam
The Haitian earthquake will trigger an outpouring of generosity. This is a classic opportunity for crooks to send e-mails and letters and create websites asking for donations to help the survivors. The money ends up in criminal pockets instead and, if you've paid by credit or debit card, your account could be maxed out as well. Natural disasters, victims of conflict and global health issues are the causes most commonly hijacked in this way. Indeed, the FBI was already warned of a number of fake sites looking to profit off the Haiti tragedy. Look for the Charity Commission number on any communication, then visit www.charity-commission.gov.uk and type it in. If there's no number or you can't find the charity listed, give your money to a reputable organisation such as the Red Cross or the Disasters Emergency Committee.
9.The inheritance/assistance scam
This fairly common scam is as lacking in sophistication as it is in tact. You receive an email saying you've inherited a load of cash from a hitherto unknown relative, or perhaps a political coup or civil war (generally in Nigeria) means someone needs to smuggle large amounts of money out of the country. If you would be so kind as to open a bank account for them, you'd be richly rewarded. As a general rule, people do not contact strangers and offer them huge sums of money. Common sense (and the delete button on your keyboard) should be enough to beat this particular type of email scam.
10. The security update scam
You're sent an e-mail that seems to come from your bank or card provider, telling you that the security parameters for your account need to be verified or reset. You click through to an apparently genuine website and give all your account data to the criminals who set it up. One variant asks you to renew a direct debit or transfer arrangement. Another downloads a virus onto your hard disk when you visit the website. Always call the organisation the e-mail claims to come from before giving out any information using a number you already have or look up independently, rather than using contact details given in the e-mail or related website.
If you're worried that you've been scammed, report the incident to the police or organisation concerned. Then check your bank and card statements thoroughly

YouTube turns to movie rental business

Video-sharing site YouTube is taking its first steps into the online movie rental business. The fledgling service will go live on 22 January. Initially only five films will be available to rent. The movies will come from the 2009 and 2010 Sundance Film Festival and will only be available in the US. The move for the Google owned company represents a major development for the site which has been looking for ways to boost its bottom line. "This is a huge move for YouTube in the sense of them trying to monetise the site," Mike McGuire, principal analyst at Gartner Research told BBC News. "This certainly opens the door for them with bigger movie studios." Content providers will be able to set their own prices, with YouTube taking a cut of the revenue. All but one of the Sundance films is being offered for $3.99 (£2.50) each for users to watch over a 48-hour viewing period. The site which is best known for its user-generated content, including dogs on skateboards and performing cats, said 20 hours of video is uploaded every minute. Last August, Comscore reported that over 10 billion videos were streamed on YouTube. Hollywood signs Industry insiders say this first step into online rental is a curtain-raiser for more ambitious pay-per-view plans. It is expected that in the near future the site will expand its rental catalogue with television shows and feature films from major studios. "Content is king in this kind of business and Sundance is a good first step," said Mr McGuire. "Negotiating with the major studios over distribution rights however is not for the faint hearted. Google has to perfect its delivery model and its billing system." YouTube already offers full-length films from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's archives. It is expected similar deals like this will emerge in the coming weeks and months and extend to newer movies. In its blog, YouTube hinted at that possibility. "In the coming weeks we'll also invite a small group of partners across other industries, in addition to independent film, to participate in this new option." Some industry watchers say YouTube has had a tough time in the past persuading the studios to part with their crown jewels such as newly released movies and Hollywood blockbusters. "YouTube has had little luck over the last several years wooing major studios and networks to stream premium content on the site, which would make it easier to draw advertising," said Ben Fritz of the Los Angeles Times. "Most studios have instead opted to put their content on Hulu, a joint venture of NBC Universal, News Corp and Walt Disney that has had more success luring marketers." Analysts point out that the pay-per-view movie offering will put YouTube in direct competition with other services including Apple's iTunes store, Amazon.com and Microsoft's XBox Live. The first five films for rent are "The Cove," "Bass Ackwards," "One Too Many Mornings," "Homewrecker" and "Children of Invention." The Sundance film festival runs until 31 January.(my view) What the fuck, greedy bastards......their making plenty of money already off of ads on the site..per month not to mention forcing ads on peoples videos.......so that amps the money making 5 fold, they do the same to me,even though my videos are MY OWN and have royalty free music on them...but still they force ads on me,the next step will be forcing ads on EVERY video people upload........soon that happens...i will leave that shit hole!

Britain under the hammer

Cadbury's isn't the first British institution to be sold to overseas bidders. Here are some of the biggest UK firms now in foreign hands. Cadbury may be the latest but it certainly won't be the last British firm to fall into foreign hands. Many household names have fallen prey to bid attention from their competitors or other interested parties over the years and all had different ways of playing the cat and mouse game that is the acquisition process. While some played hard to get, others simply fell into the arms of their suitors
Cadbury
Iconic British confectioner Cadbury is to be swallowed up by US processed food giant Kraft in a sweetened deal worth £11.5 billion. After five months of heated negotiations, the 186-year old maker of Dairy Milk finally caved in and the Cadbury board is now recommending shareholders back the deal.
Terry’s
Long before Cadbury became a bid target, Kraft added British confectioner Terry's to its stable of brand names in 1993. United Biscuit Holdings sold off the UK's fourth largest chocolate company at the time in a $321 million deal. However, Kraft went on to shut down Terry's chocolate factory in York in 2005 and moved the production of the famous chocolate orange to cheaper plants in Poland and Slovakia, leading to fears it could do the same to Cadbury sites in Bristol and Bournville. If all goes according to plan, the combined group will be one of the biggest food and confectionary businesses in the world, although shareholders may yet take some convincing.
Rowntree
Another confectioner, Rowntree, was the original maker of chocoholics' favourites Kit Kat and Aero. In 1988, the 126-year old York-based group became the subject of a bitter and controversial takeover battle between two Swiss giants, Nestle and Jacobs Suchard. Nestle emerged victorious with a £2.55 billion bid. After the takeover, the Rowntree name was eventually dropped from the packaging, apart from on its range of fruit pastilles and fruit gums.
Boots
High street stalwart Boots became the first FTSE 100 company to be bought by a private equity firm in June 2007. KKR and Boots' deputy chairman Stefano Pessina shelled out £11.1 billion for the group following a bidding war with an investment consortium led by Guy Hands and Terra Firma. Despite fears the group would be stripped of its assets to pay down the debt amassed by its buyers, Alliance Boots has been performing well. In 2009 it saw a 15% rise in full-year sales to £20.5 billion with trading profit up by almost 12% to £953 million. However, the company still had net debt of £9 billion at the end of March.
Asda
Asda became part of the Wal-Mart empire in July 1999 and is currently the US behemoth's fourth-largest overseas chain with 368 outlets across the UK. Wal-Mart launched a last-minute swoop on the supermarket chain, which was in very advanced talks with retailer Kingfisher, and emerged victorious with its £6.7 billion offer. Asda, which prides itself on its good value grocery, is now second only to Tesco in terms of supermarket size in the UK with the latest figures from TNS Worldpanel showing it has a 16.9% market share.
Abbey,Bradford & Bingley,Alliance & Leicester
Three of the most familiar names in high street banking will soon be a distant memory after Spanish banking titan Santander completes its rebrand later this year. Abbey joined the Santander family in 2004 in a deal worth more than £8 billion followed by Alliance & Leicester in June 2008 for £1.26 billion. Santander then snapped up the retail deposits and branch network of Bradford & Bingley in September 2008 for £612 million with the remainder of the struggling lender being taken under the government's wing.
O2
Mobile telecoms firm O2 enjoyed a very short life as an independent company with just over four years between its emergence from BT's mobile communications businesses and its £17.7 billion takeover by Spanish group Telefonica. Telefonica said at the time that O2 would retain its existing brand and would remain in the UK. O2 is now one of the UK's biggest mobile phone network providers with more than 18 million customers in the country boosted by an exclusive deal with iPhone in 2008.
Powergen
Former FTSE 100 electricity group Powergen moved from British to German ownership in 2002 after a year long wait to get the go-ahead from regulators. The £9.6 billion deal was held up by US officials pouring over the paperwork involving Powergen's Kentucky utility LG&E. In December 2007 the Powergen name became defunct with all communications going under the E.ON banner.
Scottish Power
E.ON had less success with electricity provider Scottish Power which flatly turned down its £10.7 billion approach in November 2005. However, Scottish Power wasn't destined to stay independent for long. When Spanish energy firm Iberdrola came sniffing round, it jumped at the £11.6 billion takeover bid and created Europe's third-largest utility company in November 2006.
British Energy
The UK's nuclear energy strategy was kick started in action with the £12.5 billion takeover of British Energy by French giant EDF in September 2008. This gave EDF control of all British Energy's nuclear power stations with plans to build four more new nuclear reactors in the UK. These could generate electricity to meet more than 13% of the UK's projected energy demand by the early 2020s. The UK government, which held a 36% stake in British Energy through its Nuclear Liabilities Fund, enjoyed a £4.4 billion windfall from the deal.
Pilkington Glass
UK glass manufacturer Pilkington moved from British to Japanese hands after three months of talks in February 2006. Japan's Nippon Glass finally paid £1.8 billion for the 80% of the 180-year-old glassmaker it did not already own after the UK group rejected its two initial bids.(my view)-These "English People" who has sold us down the river, they are scum and NOT english and never were in my eyes.....england is NOT england anymore, and i for one do not want to live in a country that i grew up in anymore...this country isn't my home,i'm sick and tired now, england is becoming to ETHNIC,to GHETTO,to BRONXY,to VIOLENT....all because the government let this fuckers in-in the name of progress...where's the progress?....their stealing OUR jobs, raping and father/mothering OUR men/women,stealing,B'and'E-ing,killing us...need i go on?

Muslim police condemn terror policy

Muslim police officers have condemned the Government's anti-terrorism strategy as an "affront to British values" which has led to an upsurge in Islamophobia. The National Association of Muslim Police said the Prevent strategy - designed to stop the spread of violent extremism - was "stigmatising" Muslims by focusing on "so-called Islamic extremism", The Daily Telegraph said. In a submission to the Commons Communities and Local Government Committee - posted on the committee's website - it said that the focus on Muslim communities ignored the extremist threat from far-right groups. "It can be argued that there is a connection in the rise of Islamophobia and our Prevent programme as it feeds on the stereotypes that the media and some right wing parties promote, i.e. all Muslims are evil and non trustworthy," it said. "Our British system is a model for the world to follow, yet we have embarked on a journey that has put this very core of British values under real threat. "The hatred towards Muslims has grown to a level that defies all logic and is an affront to British values. "The climate is such that Muslims are subject to daily abuse in a manner that would be ridiculed by Britain, were this to occur anywhere else. "We must not diminish our British values further by continuing to allow such behaviour and policies to continue unchecked." The association, which has more than 2,000 members, said there was a "sense of frustration" among Muslims that their concerns were not being heard and warned that "some serious damage" may have already occurred.(my view)-We do NOT have"Islamophobia"it is a fact that your people are fucking assholes who do not care who you kill or mock,97%of you are TERRORISTS...you only have to look on the news, read a paper to see the attacks and violence you do onto others........fuck!you people have a nerve...do we come over to your country and blow people and other shit up?.......NO its allllllll you you sheet covered pricks,a handful of you are and act normal but the rest of you are INSANE! you are changing Britain..my home into a shit hole and a war zone,we don't want mosques(or how ever you spell it)you offend peoples way of life here and you argue ect that(even though there is NO god anywhere)if nut jobs in the uk want to believe in their GOD...you have no right to say otherwise....you do not belong in the UK!you offend ect their GOD(not me but others in the uk) so we offend yours and you go ape and start bombing and killing in the name of your fat obese shit you call mo-ding dong or what ever.my people can't even defend themselves against you!the law takes pity on you.......our government have sailed us all down the river over you turds, you make me sick....the whole lot of you(the ones who are insane and want this to be their country)

Hollywood's big sequels

Ghostbusters 3, Avatar 2, Spider-Man 4... These are just a few of the major movies coming back for another scoop of box office mullah over the next few years. HIM has very specific requests for each one of them. Some of them are streaking onto a cinema screen near you in a matter of months. Some of them are still a twinkle in Tinseltown's eye. All of them are blockbusters that they want to make and you want to see. Sequels, though, are notoriously tricky muthas - for every The Dark Knight, there's a pointy-nippled Batman & Robin. So, to help Hollywood avoid turning its favourite franchises into sloppy seconds (or thirds or fourths), MSN Movies has some very specific requests for every single one of them...
Spider-Man 4
Frankly, we don't mind what they do with the Spidey sequel so long as it doesn't feature another head-slapping musical dance sequence. Thomas Haden Church back as Sandman? Sam Raimi wasn't keen but (500) Days Of Summer director Marc Webb might be the answer to the franchise's problems.
Ghostbusters 3
Who you gonna call? Sigourney Weaver, hopefully. But a crusties-in-love romance between her and Bill Murray might be a bit much. Slimer, obviously, is a must. Scripters Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky need to use the jokes they write for The Office US not stinky caveman 'comedy' Year One.
Avatar 2
We don't really mind the fact that Jim Cameron remade Dances With Wolves. Let's not make the sequel a remake of Waterworld, though, eh? Jim says it might take place on one of Pandora's moons. Just no more tree-hugging eco-blather, thankyouverymuch.(my view)-Whats wrong with cleaning up and trying to make this world a better place to live you shitbags?.
District 10
No image District 9 was neck-and-neck with Avatar as the best sci-fi film of 2009. The difference? It cost just $30 million (roughly Avatar's lunch budget). With $300 million, director Neil Blomkamp could probably make the greatest alien invasion film of all time. Imagine it: an army of "forkin' prawns" storming Earth to rescue their people and save dweeb-turned-mutant Sharlto Copley. Bring it.
Transformers 3
Bafflingly, director Michael 'I love blowing things up' Bay claims his second robo-sequel "won't be as robot-heavy" and will have "less explosions". Will he use the extra room for "a script" and "robots that don't dry-hump Megan Fox"? If only.
Star Trek 2
Word on the streets is that JJ Abrams' Trek sequel is all about snake-blooded reptilian villains The Gorn. It needs a hardcore baddie, that's for sure, with Eric Bana's underwritten Romulan the weak link in the first film. And surely it's time for Kirk to undertake a seduce-and-destroy mission on Uhuru...
Paranormal Activity 2
Saw VI director Kevin Greutert has one simple task: make it better than Saw VI and The Blair Witch Project 2. Shouldn't be hard. Maybe a teensy-weensy bit more action, too. There's only so long you can sit watching an empty room before you start slipping into a coma.
Sherlock Holmes 2
After that tantalising end to Guy Richie's blockbuster romp, Brad Pitt is now in the frame to play Holmes' arch-nemesis Professor Moriarty. Downey Jr versus Pitt? Yes. Puh-lease. Oh, one more thing. This time, how about a story that actually makes sense? Just a little bit of sense, that's all we ask.(my view)-American's CAN NOT put on a british accents to save their lives let alone play an english role......enough said...move on.
Jurassic Park 4
Forget Tintin. Spielberg and Peter Jackson should team up to make the best Jurassic Park since, well, Jurassic Park. Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and everyone else return. So do the pterodactyls from JP3. Andy Serkis can play probably play a T-rex.
I Am Legend 2
After Will Smith blew himself to high heaven in the first film, Alice Braga and little Ethan should join the survivors colony and blast it out with mutants. That's 28 Days Later meets Aliens, we're saying. Get James Cameron to direct it and we're sold.
National Treasure 3
Nicolas Cage is shockingly killed in the opening scene and replaced by daring archaeologist turned adventurer Hugh Jackman. The title changes to Indiana Jones And The National Treasure. Spielberg directs. George Lucas goes nowhere near it. There are no aliens. Hey, if you're going to rip off a franchise, do it properly. Theres others coming but they do not interest me like"Wallstreet 2,The untouchables 2,ect and frankly a few gay movies(men and woman)those make me sick,so i didn't post those un-natural one either
